Hello Classs,
Support from stakeholders, either internal or external, is the key to the success of a change project, for example, the introduction of the prenatal education program using technology. Among the internal stakeholders who are crucial for the success of this venture are the nursing staff working in the healthcare setting. The medical professionals involvement in patient care will be a decisive factor in the success of the proposed project. Without their cooperation and buy-in, the introduction of new technologies may be met with resistance or implementation problems. Another internal stakeholder group is the administration or management of the healthcare facility. Their contribution is vital to meeting essential needs such as funding for the acquisition of technology, employee training, and time allocation for implementation (Nilsen et al., 2020). Moreover, the support from high-ranking officials contributes to the change project’s credibility and smooth integration into the existing organizational culture.
Externally, pregnant women and their families are of paramount importance. Their engagement in the planning and design of the prenatal education program will ensure that it is aligned to their needs and preferences. Moreover, the participation of community members in the program increases the power of the intervention and leads to better outcomes in care during pregnancy and prenatal care. Apart from the governmental organizations, the community organizations and advocacy groups that are active in maternal and child health play the role of external stakeholders. Alliances with these organizations can be a way to use their extra resources, expertise, and outreach channels to connect with more pregnant women. The funding from community members helps the program be more effective and sustainable beyond the health facility.
As a nurse, the ability to communicate clearly and effectively is one of the top skills needed to foster support from key stakeholders. Effective and compassionate communication creates confidence and understanding, which ensures that all stakeholders believe that their issues are being considered (Al?Shamaly, 2022). With the use of plain language to describe the benefits of the proposed change and engage stakeholders, nurses can easily foster communication among all members of the healthcare team. Moreover, the display of patient-centered care and evidence-based practice also creates stakeholder confidence, confirming a positive outcome of the change proposal.
