While the Samurai Creed focuses on the individual, the codes of Chivalry and the Khan laws all have the entire society as the public. The latter two are directed at the society and everyone ought to abide by them. On the other hand, one can opt not to follow the ideas postulated in the Samurai Creed and only the said individual would face the consequences of not so doing.
