that you can critically apply to the content of this course. You are to select and ATTEND one cultural

activity from a culture that you do not identify with personally (e.g., different race/ethnicity, religion,

sexual orientation, political view). Examples of appropriate cultural activities include lectures, festivals,

religious events, rallies, exercise, i.e., hot yoga, etc.

You will then write a paper about your experience. The paper should be 5 pages double- spaced (12-

point Times New Roman font, 1-inch margins).

Make sure you address the following questions:

1) What event did you attend? 2) What was your emotional reaction? (E.g., Were you nervous? Uncomfortable?

Relaxed? 3) What was the most shocking/interesting thing that occurred? 4) What did you learn? 5)

What is the relevancy of your experience to Abnormal Psychology (so why did I have you to complete a

cultural activity in a psychology course!?!)? You must also submit the program or other APPROVED form

of proof from the event to verify your attendance. You can take a picture of the proof and upload in

Canvas with the paper.
