The goal of this individual assignment is to develop skills associated with effectively monitoring risks and then communicating and reporting what you find or observe while doing this monitoring; and ensuring that this communication is done efficiently, expeditiously, and effectively. In the equivalent of about three or four double-spaced pages altogether:
Explain the purpose of the Monitor Risks process and outline what you would do in this process in the traditional project management context, what inputs and data/information you might need, and what outputs you might generate. Explain in a few sentences what might be different in an agile setting. (Roughly one double-spaced page.)
Justify convincingly what technology, tools, and techniques you would need to analyze the data/information (used in #1 above) efficiently and effectively and why you would need them. (Roughly one double-spaced page.)
Strategize on how you would ideally present to stakeholders the results of your analysis (in #2 above) and what technology, tools, and techniques (if any) you may need to do that in the most compact, efficient, and effective manner. (About 1 to 1.5 double-spaced pages).
Provide at least one high-visualization chart that you believe would help stakeholders (or at least some of them) to quickly interpret your analysis and make effective decisions, providing an example of a specific decision they could make using your chart. The answer to this part (#4) does not count towards the three to four double spaced pages recommendation, so you may use an additional one to three pages of charts (with minimal explanatory text) if you wish to.
Your answers should be clear and concise, and they should cogently and impactfully address the requirements stated above. As you write out your assignment, your top priority should be to ensure that your risk monitoring effort provides the right reports and insights to the right stakeholders at the right time – and in a modality and format that best facilitates quick interpretation and informed decision making.
