This assignment requires you to go to the TCC library website, and access the Nineteenth Century U.S. Newspapers Database, via the  TCC Library’s homepage. Go to the Nineteenth-Century U.S. Newspapers database and search for “slavery” or “slave” between the years 1820-1860 in a city, town, or state of your choosing.  For example, you might search for yellow fever in Virginia, and compare articles from towns and cities. Or, you might compare the results from one state to those of another state.  Then write an essay analyzing at least TWO different articles, and discussing what you learned. You should develop a single thesis that unifies your analysis of the two articles with evidence from the articles that you chose. Your essay should reflect your knowledge of course readings and must include specific references to newspaper articles you have found interesting from the database.
