We use ipconfig /all while investigating a computer’s IP address and MC address. MC address is usually listed as a physical address,

1. Press the Windows Start key to open the Start screen.
2. Type cmd and press Enter to launch the command prompt.
3. Type ipconfig /all at the command prompt to check the network card settings.
4. The MAC address and IP address are listed under the appropriate adapter as Physical Address and IPv4 Address.

You should follow the steps and have your computer’s IP address and MC address while you are in your home network.

Then bring your laptop to another place (like, a Coffee shop, University, etc. ) and do the same Network Troubleshooting exercise (ipconfig /all).
