Elizabeth Turner I recently watched the speech titled “Breaking the antibacterial bubble”. The title itself caught my attention since I am a bit of a clean freak, and I was curious to learn more. I was surprised to find out that not all but most antibacterial products can cause more problems than they solve. The speaker does a considerable job using logos and citing qualified sources from well-known schools and when going over these facts did not fail to mention the original source. I also believe the speaker does an excellent job of appealing to emotions, particularly to those with small children by making a point that by overusing these products can lead to a child having more allergies and asthma when they grow up. If I was a parent of a small child, I would start to take this into consideration when shopping for cleaning products. She demonstrates some of the products by bringing them physically with her and showing them unfortunately just the product does not show it effect. Comparing the ability to get antibacterial cleaning products to needing a prescription to get antibiotic medications was a great analogy and put into prospective. It emphasized that these products should not be so easy to buy or for soap companies to make. Overall, she made great use of demonstrations and solutions, used good vocabulary and language, and spoke very smooth and convincingly. I would give this speech a 98% only deducting points for looking at her cards frequently and for it being a little on the longer side being, almost nine minutes.
