The client reports problems with the hands. 1 month ago The client returns to the employee health clinic because of problems with hands and arms. He says, “My fingers go numb when I use the machine to polish the floors, and sometimes my hands won’t wake up.” The client is assessed and given instructions to follow-up in one month. Current The client is returning as instructed. The client complains of pain with flexion and extension of the elbow joint against resistance. No redness, deformity, or swelling of the olecranon bursa or epicondyles is found. The wrists appear swollen and client has difficulty bending wrists, placing palms flat on table, and turning them outward and in. Client is unable to make a tight fist and complains of pain when resistance is applied at the palm. Client states has numbness and burning in the thumb, index finger, and middle finger, but not the little finger.
