One frustrating thing about teaching this course, is I don’t get to talk about every single artist that deserves to be mentioned when discussing the history of Rock and R&B. So, in this discussion thread, I want YOU to become the teacher and help fix this injustice. Please pick one artist, (from the time period covered in Ch. 14…girl groups, surf music, soul, gospel, etc…), that is NOT discussed in our PowerPoint or module pages and do a brief biographical treatment of them. Make sure to discuss the style they recorded in and what was unique about their music. You can choose an artist from these genres: Girl Groups, Surf Music, Gospel, and Soul. Ready…steady…GO!As usual, I expect your primary post to be submitted before the end of the assignment. So… all primary posts must be submitted by the end of this week (Mar 29).If you do not submit your primary post by Mar 29, there will be a 5pt per day penalty for each late day. Your two ‘peer-response’ posts will be due the following Friday (Apr 3). Remember…this is a ‘discussion’…don’t just post and run, interact with and learn from each other.
