Nursing Informatics is one of the newer areas which combines all of the disciplines in a medical field. It started its use fairly recently in the hospital settings. I remember how we used to chart everything by hand. But the downside of it, that some of the charts were missed, lost or not cared enough. As a result the care for the patient was missed and harmful consequences appeared. Now with evolve of technology and research and science, Nursing Informatics became as a discipline and a profession according to Nelson & Staggers, 2018. It helps to organize the medical and evidence-based research and nursing data, where interdisciplinary team members could communicate between each other in a timely manner and to deliver best quality patient-centered care. 
I find it fascinating how delivery of patient care is more proficient with the help of technology and informatics such as Tele-intensive care units, use of Robotics in remote areas, also the use of telehealth in Behavioral Health, Cardiology and Dermatology helps to integrate patient care from a distance. I could see at the present time, how healthcare evolve, that it could be delivered to the remote areas such as to the submarines, boats and airplanes in a distance. It helps to save money and provide care best as possible.
