Social institutions prevalent in American society
Introduction
American society is a complex web of relationships. These relationships can be divided into different sub-groups, such as family, education, religion, economy and health care. Each of these institutions plays an important role in shaping the American culture and values.
Family
Family is a social institution, which is defined as “a group of people related to each other by blood, marriage or adoption, who live under one roof.” Families are places where love and warmth can be found. They provide care for their members and help them learn about the world around them.
Family values have been advocated by many influential individuals throughout history including Abraham Lincoln, Albert Einstein and Mahatma Gandhi (source).
Education
-
Education is a very important part of American society.
-
Schools and colleges are the primary source of education for Americans, with elementary schools, middle schools and high schools providing secondary education.
-
Universities also play an important role in educating our youth.
-
Colleges provide specialized training for students who wish to pursue further studies after high school or college graduation.
Religion
Religion has been a dominant force in society for thousands of years. It is the most important social institution and helps people find meaning in their lives.
Religion can be defined as “a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature and purpose of the universe, often involving belief in a supernatural creator or other immaterial entities.” The first known religions were fertility cults; they involved worshiping natural elements like trees, stones and animals that gave life to humans and animals (elements). As time went on, these fertility cults evolved into more complicated religions based on myths about gods who created everything from the sky above us to our own bodies below us!
Government
The United States government is made up of three branches: the legislative branch, the executive branch and the judicial branch. The legislative branch is responsible for making laws and establishing policy; it consists of two chambers—the Senate and House of Representatives. The executive branch has responsibility for implementing policies set forth by Congress through executive orders, which are issued when a majority vote in both houses of Congress authorizes them. Finally, it’s up to judges on our court system to interpret laws passed by Congress or signed by presidents so they can be enforced as written!
In addition to these three branches being represented within each state’s legislature (statehouse), there are also other organizations that work closely with them including Bureaucracies such as IRS tax collection agencies where citizens pay their taxes annually throughout each year before January 1st arrives…
Economy
The economy is the way in which people make a living and how they spend their time. It includes everything from the smallest businesses to large corporations, as well as government programs like social security or unemployment benefits. The economy affects many aspects of life, including how people live (a house, food), work (a job) and play (going to the movies).
Health Care
Health care is a social institution because it is an organization that exists to provide health care. It is a social institution because it’s an organization that provides services to the community, and this type of work is done by people from all walks of life. Health care also has a lot of interdependence between individuals and groups, so if one person gets sick or injured, then everyone else in the community might need to use their services as well.
Takeaway:
In conclusion, social institutions are important to the American society. Families, schools, churches and government are some of the most important institutions in the United States. Health care is also an important part of our society as it affects everyone’s health and well-being.
Conclusion
The takeaway should be that we all have a responsibility to work together to make our society better. We can start by coming together around these values, which are what make our country great. The power of these social institutions has brought us to where we are now, so let’s not lose sight of their importance in the future.
