Reliability and validity
HCA 699 Topic 5 DQ 1
Reliability and validity are related qualities but independent. They are similar to the terms “precision” and “accuracy,” respectively. A wind-up clock that does not work is accurate (valid) twice a day. But it lacks precision (reliability). A digital clock that is always 5 minutes slow is never accurate (valid) but is very precise (reliable). Elaborate on the assessment instrument used in your project to ensure validity and reliability.

Reliability and validity in research
Introduction
Researchers are always looking for ways to improve the reliability and validity of their research. This can be done by improving how reliable the data is, and also making sure that it’s valid (useful). In this article, I will explain what reliability and validity mean in research, and how you can check if your study is reliable or not.
Reliability
The reliability of a measure is the extent to which it describes your data. The more often you measure something, the more reliable your measurement will be. For example, if you have an oral interview with 100 people and ask them all the same questions, then there’s no way that anyone could answer those questions differently! But if you asked each person only once (or twice), then there could be some variation in how they answered those questions because not everyone has heard them before.
Reliability refers specifically to consistency between two measurements taken at different points in time or from different places or subjects; this means that whatever measurement method is being used must be able to produce meaningful results for each individual case without changing over time or location (or both).
There are two types of reliability: internal consistency and external consistency
Internal consistency refers to the degree of agreement among items within a test. If there’s no consistency, then you can’t be sure that any one item measures what it claims to measure. For example, if a test has 20 questions and all but two are answered correctly by every subject who takes it, then it would not be considered internally consistent because those two questions could easily have been answered incorrectly just by chance (i.e., they’re not measuring anything). External consistency is similar but more general in scope; this type refers to how well your measurements agree with other data collected from different sources (such as other tests or studies).
Validity
Validity is the degree to which a test measures what it is supposed to measure.
Validity is related to reliability, meaning that if you want your test to be reliable, it should have high validity. The same goes for both: If you want your test to be valid, then you need high reliability as well!
The purpose of any psychological or educational tool is always simply one thing: helping people learn something useful (or at least interesting). Whether this means teaching someone how to play an instrument or understand math equations better, whatever content we’re trying teach them must be true and relevant information in their lives; otherwise our efforts will fail miserably because there won’t ever be any positive outcomes from our instruction sessions unless something sticks with each student afterwards—which can only happen if our instructions were truly helpful!
Takeaway:

The importance of reliability and validity in research
-
How to achieve reliability and validity in your research

What to do if you are not achieving reliability or validity in your research
Conclusion
Research is a valuable tool for understanding how the world works and for making decisions about our future. We should use it wisely, however, to avoid dangerous misunderstandings of a topic or a phenomenon.
