What is the linear voltage gain of the amplifier?
Answers to each question need to be clearly written with detailed solutions need to be provided
Requirements: answer each question correctly
HW1 – Due: September 6th at 11:59 pm
(Late HW will not be accepted)
Problem 1. One page of the datasheet of MAAM -011109 is included in this assignment. That is an RF amplifier.
Based on the information on the datasheet, answer the following questions:
What is the linear voltage gain of the amplifier?
What is the maximum output power (PL) of the amplifier? (Hint: convert dBm to mW)
How much power (Pdc) is needed from the power supplies to run one amplifier?
Find the theoretical largest voltage at the output of this amplifier when no load is connected to the input.
Draw the equivalent circuit model of the amplifier and label the values of Ri, Ro, and Av0 on the diagram.
Considering the answer of part (b) and (c) find the power efficiency in the amplifier.
To achieve a higher gain, you can cascade amplifiers. 3 amplifiers are connected in a cascade form as shown below. In the circuit Vs= 5mV* Sin(ωt), Rs=10 ohms, and RL is 50 ohms.
Using the model in part ‘e’ for each amplifier, draw an equivalent circuit for the cascaded design including Vs, Rs, and RL (Review example 1.3 in your textbook)
Find the overall gain of Vout/Vs
What would be the total DC power consumption in the whole circuit? Do you recommend any ventilation or cooling system?
For what range of frequency does your design work?
