Consequently, bats are considered a plausible main reservoir for this virus. The precise intermediate source of origin and mode of transmission to humans remains uncertain; yet, there is substantial evidence supporting the widespread occurrence of human-to-human transmission. Currently, there is a lack of clinically authorized antiviral drugs or vaccines that have been developed for the specific purpose of combating the COVID-19 virus. Nevertheless, a limited number of broad-spectrum antiviral medications have undergone clinical trials to assess their effectiveness in treating COVID-19, leading to clinical improvement.(Shereen et al., 2020)
Saudi Arabia occupies a significant strategic position in the Middle East and beyond due to its geographical location. Additionally, it serves as the host country for “The Hajj,” one of the greatest yearly religious mass gatherings globally. Amidst the ongoing coronavirus epidemic, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) formulated a comprehensive strategy encompassing many sectors, which implemented a range of actions aimed at mitigating the transmission of Covid-19 within its borders as well as across international boundaries. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has done public health policy measures made by the Saudi Ministry of Health, several government ministries, and the commercial sector, which collectively played a crucial role in mitigating the worst impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic. Additionally, the problems associated with the execution of these strategies are thoroughly examined and discussed. The tactics encompassed in this approach consist of three key components. Firstly, the implementation of quarantine measures and travel restrictions serves as a means to limit the spread of the virus. Secondly, the expansion of serological screening aids in the identification and monitoring of individuals who may have been exposed to the virus. Lastly, the adoption of mask wearing practices, namely ensuring that the face and nose are adequately covered, along with the practice of social distancing, contributes to reducing the risk of transmission. 4. The readiness of healthcare facilities to manage the surge of COVID-19 patients. 5. The application of artificial intelligence in addressing the pandemic. 6. Ensuring public confidence and trust. 7. The relocation of slum areas and the provision of alternative homes for its residents. 8. The suspension of the Hajj season. 9.
