In a professional career, one may be called upon to conduct research and deliver findings in professional settings. No matter how extensive the research or accurate the conclusions are, a weak presentation can undermine an argument. A presentation is a tool to assist in making an argument. When creating presentations, students develop skills in researching an issue, synthesizing information, organizing data logically, and presenting findings in an effective manner.
For this activity, you will select a feature story or article from SBJ related to an international/global sport business that interests you. Please select a recent article. Next, prepare a PowerPoint presentation (10 to 12 slides). You must include a voiceover for this presentation. The presentation is due in Module Five.
In your PowerPoint, make sure you:
• Describe the article in some detail (do not read the article verbatim to the class as your presentation)—select the main theme and summarize key points.
• Comment on how the article relates to the global sport business. Be specific about what elements of the article relate to global sport business material we have covered in the course.
• Express your point of view on some aspects of the article. For example, if the article is on the NBA entering China, you might choose to take a position
and have a point of view—is this something the NBA should do? Why? Why not? Are there any other international business issues that might arise as a
result of this action by the NBA? Please think this through and state it clearly.
