For those of you who do not know what a storyboard is, it is a series of panels that communicate different moments or phases in a story. A good example is a comic strip. A powerpoint is a form of storyboard, as long as the slides create a sense of continuity. (I have attacked the example file – Storyboarding Korean American history)

In the early 1900s, Japan colonized Korea, forcing many Korean families to be driven out by Japanese soldiers.
Many families went to the port and were recruited to work for Hawaiian plantations. The American government painted Hawaii as a paradise.
Many women also came to Hawaii by getting married to men who had sent their pictures. Unfortunately, these pictures were often inaccurate.
Upon arrival, the Koreans realized that the life in Hawaii was also horrible. They had to face racism and were overworked as child-caring wives, plantation workers, etc.
Many Koreans left Hawaii to mainland U.S. to open businesses, work in restaurants, become domestic servants, etc.
Many others were already in the mainland as they came to San Francisco and were processed at Angel Island.
