Can someone read this and fix it to make it sound better please?
On Tuesday, February 28, I went to the givens perming arts center to watch the talented students and director of University of North Carolina at Pembroke’s concert band perform. I want to say I was very surprised that vocalist were performing! I had the thought it was just going to be the band. The piece performed by the band and soprano vocalist Casey Bell, was such a beautiful piece. She performed with such a soft tone, and I could not wait to hear her high note when the crescendo happened. That was the first time for me hearing a live vocalist like that.
The second piece that I really enjoyed was “Xylophonia” performed by Phillip Brown and uncp’s percussionist. It was such an exciting piece that had different tempo changes going from Adagio to Vivace. I love the sound a xylophone makes. It reminds me of the song “under the sea” in the little mermaid movie. It has a consonant harmony to it and the dynamics went from pianissimo to fortissimo and vice versa. It was a creative piece that myself and the audience really enjoyed. I look forward to going to next year’s concert!
