To score the composite, you look at each of the questions in the set (image below). In this case the composite is ?Communication About Error and it has four question in the set. Looking at the answers given above, you calculate the composite score as:
D7 = 4 points (NOTE- it tells you that this is a negatively worded question so you flip the scores around. Instead of the 2, it becomes a 4. If it were a 1 it would become a 5. 3 will always be 3, being in the middle.)
D8 = 4 points
D11 = 4 points
D12 = 3 points
Composite Total = 15 points, then average it 15/4 = 3.75
