The Facilitative Conditions
Order Instructions
Watch the video of Carl Rogers interviewing Gloria on You tube and identify, describe and discuss the use of the three facilitative conditions as discussed in class and outlined in Hepworth, Chapter 5.
One way to access the video is to first go to http://www.youtube.com At you tube’s home page type: Carl Rogers and Gloria in the search box and you should see the 5 part video posted by an esherborne3. The interview consists of a total of five different videos divided into Parts (Part 1, 2,3 etc,). Part 1 is primarily an overview of his theory and prepares the viewer for what to expect. As you view the different segments you will note that there is some overlap between the different parts. There are other posts of the video (there is one with Spanish language subtitles) and you can pick and choose the version that is easiest for you to view. I am suggesting the esherborne3 version only because I found it to have the best audio/video quality.
As you watch the video take note of at least five instances where you witness a facilitative condition and describe and discuss what occurs between Dr. Rogers and Gloria in support of (evidence) of your observation.
The paper should be two to three pages (double spaced, twelve point font, 1” margins) and it should include a cover page.
