Hello Tutor, I have been trying my best to this homework, but I’m not sure if my answer is correct. Please feel free to revise my answer. In addition, there are some question that i don’t know how to answer. Please, help.
(1) Describe someone that you know very well who is very different from you on the trait that you chose to focus on in the worksheet for Part I. Write a brief paragraph about the ways this person is different from you.
I know someone who doesn’t have life goal. He doesn’t want to work because his family would provide him money whenever he needs it. He does not contribute to the community and only spends his parents’ money to buy alcohol and cigarettes. In addition, he was the type of person who lacked patience and motivation because he chose not to complete school even though his family was wealthy. He was unable to finish high school.
(2) What are some of the feelings that you typically experience when thinking about the discrepancy between you and this person on this trait? (You could chose to focus on how the discrepancy makes you feel about yourself, or about the person, or both).
We used to attend to the same school and be in the same class when we were young, so I feel bad for him because he was my friend. There is no motivation when there are no goals. It was sad to see his struggles with both his physical and emotional health.
(3) Let’s apply Bronfenbrenner’s ecological model to your understanding of the person (and the trait that is very different from you): How have the micro-systems, exo-systems, and macro-systems that this person grew up in contributed to the formation of this trait in them? For each level (i.e., micro, exo, and macro), offer speculation on how two things in each system may have contributed to the formation of that trait.
His family was the Micro-system that should aid him in developing this quality as he grew up. I’m not sure if his parents would advise him to have a goal in life. Family was important in teenage development because family members should teach their children on how to lead fulfilling lives. Perhaps his parents did not teach him the values of kindness or having a life purpose.
Some traits of the Exo-systems local institutions such as school and religious community. We used to go on field trips at the beginning or end of each semester in my school, but as I mentioned earlier, he did not finish high school and did not attend classes frequently. Moreover, as an aspect of my Buddhist religion, I used to go to the temple on the weekends to meditate and pray. I also used to give food to the food bank to prevent local hunger, but I’ve never seen him d any of those things. Perhaps he had a family issue or was just lazy.
The traits of the Macro-systems contributed to the shaping him to who he is maybe because since his family is wealthy, I may think that he does not need to finish his studies until college to help them and earn some money. Perhaps…………………
