1. Decide on a video, take notes while viewing it

2. State the title, director, stars and a brief—two to three sentences of plot summary

3. Give your reaction to the plot—believable, ludicrous, level (little emotion) and WHY—give

4. Critique the acting.  Was it good, superb, lousy, etc? WHO and WHY—give a specific

6. Mention mise-en-scene (editing, camera angle, etc.).  How did it help or hurt the film—BE SPECIFIC.

7. What you think the theme of the film was—state it and give an example of the theme in

the film.

8.You must show a clip of the film—it must be no longer than 1 minute long, have it cued

up—it must relate to one of the above directions (3-7).  In other words, it can be a clip of

excellent acting, or support a point you are making about mise-en-scene. 

9.  At the end of the review, rate the film (thumbs up or down. . . whatever) and

summarize why.
