1) There are many things I want to do with my life. First I became a Medical Assistant and decided I wanted something different. Then I wanted to open my own business like a bookstore or a coffee shop. Even so, I still have the desire to write in my life. It is wanted to gain a career in just writing, but I think the safe call would be to do it on the side. I like to write poetry in my free time and writing a novel is also in the works. If I cannot attain a writing career full time, I would use my skills to write for contests and things to help me on the side. Poetry to me is like writing in my journal. I can express the way I feel in my writings. Also I think writing a novel expresses a picture we create in our mind and it can be very fulfilling to write in just a free style. I think that either way I go, I will still be fulfilling my dream. A coffee shop is a great place to sell books and so is a bookstore, so my interests are all connected.
2) During my days in college I never thought to become a writer. I always from the beginning chose to take my talents more to a teaching level. I think inspiring others with knowledge that I have utained can help others who are lost or not sure of a careers path for themselves. Writing has always just been part of the journey for me. Although I don’t desire a career in the writing field that doesn’t mean my mind might not change in a few years. I have enjoyed writing for this class, it has Brough a lot of creativity to my eyes. Poetry is something I’ve always written, in journals or even in my time of discomfort. So regardless I will always write just maybe not professionally. Teaching positions hold a more important part within my heart that I could never get rid of. There are multiple other ways to use your writing skills within the writing community. You just have to really find what’s best for you. In our book it states “And so I wrote. I wrote for practice. I wrote for fun. I wrote to discover, to explore, to play. I wrote because I was never more content than when I was sitting quietly at my writing desk, churning out pages.” always remember, your writing holds power, even if it’s not for a profession. Keep writing regardless of the out come!
