Next, 0.25 of patient serum was added to tube 1, mixed and then 0.25ml of that mixture was transferred to tube 2, mixed and 0.25 ml of that mixture was added to tube 3. This continued until tube 8 when the 0.25 ml removed after mixing was discarded. Reagent A was red in color and was the only reagent added. This specimen had been correctly drawn on this same day and stored correctly until the test was set up. The package insert indicated that the titer of the specimen for Rubella antibodies was determined by the last tube in which there was visible red color. The break point for being considered immune to Rubella was a titer of 64 or greater. 1.
