Upon reviewing the toolkit, please choose either an advocacy or a lobbying approach for a health issue that is important to you. This can be a health issue relevant to your community or something that matters to you personally. Examples could be funding for tobacco prevention and STD’s or the encouragement of a new law to prohibit texting and driving. After you have chosen this topic and your corresponding approach, walk through the steps that you would take towards solving the issue. The following format may be used:

Slide 1: Introduction

Slides 2-3: Background of your health issue

Slides 3-4: What has been done/what has not

Slides 4-5: Choice between lobbying/advocacy and your rationale for making that choice

Slides 5-9: How will you engage in either lobbying/advocacy for your issue (hint, use the examples vs lobbying activities table to give you an idea)
