You reviewed the department policy and procedure manual and discovered that while there is an orientation procedure for all hourly positions within the department, there is no orientation procedure for supervisors. The transcription area consists of two on-site employees who transcribe all radiology and pathology reports and a data clerk who is responsible for distributing reports to the EHR as well as distributing copies to their correct locations. The remainder of the transcriptionists (20 FTEs) are remote employees of the hospital. There is no outsourced transcription.
