Description: In this short writing assignment I am to select a speech (or a couple of speeches if needed) to analyze using public speaking concepts and applying some of the skills you have learned this semester. The speech(es) you choose to analyze can be: public/political speeches; Ted Talks; Oscar/Emmy acceptance speeches; speeches portrayed in movies, TV shows, or cartoons; toasts; eulogies – essentially any “speech” you choose to analyze.
Requirements:
• (3-4) ( ,,,pages in length)
• Include a link to your speech – if possible – sometimes this is more difficult with movies/shows – if you choose one of these, please note the timestamp of when the speech/es occur in the movie, etc.
Identify the type of speech (introductory, informative, persuasive, ceremonial – acceptance, eulogy, toast, roast, event rally, nomination, etc.) and provide evidential support from your Workbook to support “how” you know what kind of speech you are viewing and “why”
– provide examples and use these as guides.
