One of the best options is to use the social media platforms to provide information to the people who need it the most. The platforms have the ability to figure out the location of its users, using this feature the platform can send information focused on our community, in this case LA county. Government organizations can share any information about events and resources that could to help combat this issue. There are different accessories that can protect the catalytic converter from being stolen, the information about these accessories can be shared through the social platforms. Los Angeles County is located in southern California, it reached a population of more than 10 million people in 2020, according to DATA USA and the average household owns two cars. Catalytic converter theft continues to grow with no end in sight, the thieves are becoming more reckless and dangerous. These cases show just how common and how bad the situation is with this problem, because these are the ones that make it to the news, many other cases are not even reported. Different local government organizations have their own social media accounts; LAPD, LAFD and the LASD; this problem at hand is that the interaction of these accounts with the public is really low. As of the time that this was written, the twitter account for the LAPD had 232 thousand followers, this is a decent amount of followers, there was an average of 39.2 ‘likes’ in the last 10 posts by the account. The LA Galaxy is a local soccer team; it had 537 thousand followers, in the last 10 posts; the average ‘likes’ number was 151.5. The number of followers is a little more than double for the LA Galaxy but the average is 4 times bigger. This shows that the number of people interacting with the information is not enough, having a social media presence does not translate into having people reading the information. This is the reason that a startup ‘layer’ that forces users to interact with the information is very important. It would be easy for the social media companies to add a ‘layer’ in front of the regular content, adding a this start up layer is not complicated; it would be like the ads that come Aguilar 3 up when trying to access some websites. This layer will contain the information that we want to provide to the user. The layer would not be closed until the reader interacts with it, this way we ensure that the information is reaching its target. There is a government program that help low-income families to get free or low-cost phones as well as service plans.
