They hand out fliers advertising their study to all students enrolled in a statistics class at the beginning of the semester. A second group of students enrolled in a history class is also recruited. The 300 eligible students are then followed over the course of the semester, and at the end of the semester are asked to report about their experience with migraines during the semester. Of the 125 students enrolled in a statistics class, 35 report having had at least one migraine. Of the 175 students enrolled in a history class, 30 report having had at least one migraine.
