Case study Scenario 1 – Jasmine This is adapted from a scenario used at Richmond and Hillcroft Adult and Community College. Jasmine is a 15-year-old female who has requested to see her Head of Year at school. Jasmine has a history of self-harm and has previously spoken at length to her Head of Year about the challenges she faces in life. Jasmine was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at birth and has always been involved with healthcare services. Jasmine is a bright and able student academically and is a keen musician. When meeting with her Head of Year, Jasmine appears distressed and anxious. Jasmine discloses that she thinks she maybe pregnant but is not sure. Jasmine discloses that she feels awful and as though her life is over, she is visibly scared and worried about the consequences of any decision she needs to make. As a Head of Year, it is your responsibility to refer Jasmine to appropriate services.
