One Health Care Administration law in New Hampshire that I found interesting is N.H. Code Admin. R. He-P 802.16 – Organization and Administration part B.1. Which states “Each hospital shall have a full-time administrator who has a master’s degree from an accredited institution and at least 4 years of experience working in a health-related field or has a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and at least 8 years of experience working in a health-related field” (New Hampshire Administrative Code ,2009) It is interesting to me that the state sets a specific education and experience level specifically for a hospital administrator position.

A job that would fit with my degree in Health Care Administration is a Practice Manger for General Surgery and Orthopedics at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Concord Clinic. Once I have completed my degree I will meet all the required qualifications for this position. It may be a slight disadvantage that I don’t have the master’s degree they would prefer, however that is my next planned step in higher education.
