1. How does Martin Luther King Jr. suggest the war in Vietnam is affecting the civil rights movement?
2. Why does he call for an end to the war? What does he mean when he says: “our loyalties must become ecumenical rather than sectional”? Do you agree/disagree? Explain.
3. Choose one quote from the speech that you think is particularly well said, or important to understanding the argument Martin Luther King, Jr. is making about the war in Vietnam. Explain.
4. What does war do to a country? How would it make you feel if your country were at war? What would you do? What responsibilities do you have as a citizen of a country that is at war? Explain using examples.
