The technologist is sent home early because of low procedure count, and shortly after a disaster code is called. Several accident patients are arriving and some of them are going to surgery. The student is sent to surgery while the other staff radiographers are busy with trauma patients in the department. During the surgical procedure the C-arm fluoroscopy equipment malfunctions and the student cannot correct the problem. By the time the staff radiographer arrives to fix the C-arm equipment, the patient has died. The surgeon is furious with the student and shares his anger with the other surgeons.
