" Planned change is a process where by social workers engage a client, assess issues, identify strengths and problems, establish a plan of action, implement the plan, evaluate its effects, and finally terminate the process.
In chapter 4, you are introduced to the 6 steps of the "planned change process". This is very helpful in guiding our social work practice with clients.
Please give an example of how you would take a client through the process. Include the client's primary presenting problem of your choosing, and some basic demographic info about your client. Then discuss what will be done in all 6 steps.
Since chapter 7 deals with social policy and chapter 8 deals with poverty, I thought it would help to have you all go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IK35cxb3rkA&t=97s and watch the documentary titled The One Percent by Jaime Johnson. Just type the title in the search box and hit enter or copy and paste the link. You can also watch the documentary on Netflix.
After viewing the film post the answer to these questions in this discussion board:
1. What did you learn from watching this documentary?
2. How did this film impact your thoughts about poverty and social class in America?
3. Why does this relate to social work?
