PAPER & DRAFTING PROCESS Maximum length is 10 pages (double-spaced, 1” margins, Times New Roman font). While there is no minimum length, papers of sufficient depth are rarely less than eight pages long. Cover sheet, diagrams, works cited (or references), and tables do not count in the 10-page limit.
You must email an initial draft to me by 11:59pm Sunday April 14, and you and your team must make an appointment and consult with the Howe Writing Initiative on a rough draft between April 14 and April 24. The HWI fills up quickly, so make your appointment immediately (see www.miamioh.edu/hwi). One member of the team can make the appointment but please try to have as many members as possible attend the consultation.
Structure of the paper:
1. Cover sheet: Title, Authors
2. Introduction (Section 1) to motivate the choice of your particular industry as well as how it relates to a theoretical model you have studied in this course.
3. Literature Summary (Section 2) from some or all of the types of sources identified. You must provide at least four citations that have bearing on your analysis.
4. Specific discussion of the strategies (Section 3) used by your particular firm/industry. This discussion should consider impacts from the perspectives of both the firm/industry and society at large.
5. The paper must be your original work and in your own words. All references used must be specifically listed in the works cited (or references) and clearly cited in the text. (For a refresher on citation styles, visit the Purdue Online Writing Lab https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/section/2).
