My chosen technology is PVs

The recommendation analysis should provide two to three concrete recommendations for how to best utilize your selected technology.
As part of your analysis, include the following.
Introduction: Explain your selected technology and provide contextual details concerning application and reach.
Thesis: Offer an argument to synthesize your ideas and provide a foundation for your recommendations and analysis for the “pro position”.
Ethical Dilemmas: Identify and describe two to three ethical dilemmas (from a Utilitarian and/or Kantian perspective) posed by your selected technology. Include concrete examples and ethical theories to help detail your summary.
Recommendations: Offer concrete recommendations to help mediate each of the described dilemmas. Remember to consider stakeholders and resources for providing solutions.
Conclusion: Summarize your main arguments and provide avenues for further discussion.
Remember to use these titles for each section!

—— tip for the essay ——
he recommendation analysis should provide two to three concrete recommendations for how to best utilize your selected technology. Here are some tips to support:
Introduction: Explain your selected technology and provide contextual details concerning application and reach.
Provide a brief definition of your technology and focus on the most effective ways it will be utilized and how far reaching the impact of the technology can be.
Thesis: Offer an argument to synthesize your ideas and provide a foundation for your recommendations and analysis.
As you likely know, A thesis statement is a short statement, usually one sentence, that summarizes the main point or claim of an essay, research paper, etc., and is developed, supported, and explained in the text by means of examples and evidence. (https://www.dictionary.com/browse/thesis-statement)
As we are “for” these technologies, we would want to be a bit “proactive” and provide something like:
For PV’s: “ …..Given the increasing demand for energy, the pollution and increasing costs (both direct and indirect) in use of fossil fuels, photovoltaic technology will become increasing viable source of sustainable and energy generation for the future….”
For EV’s:“….There is increasing need for an environmentally safe and sustainable alternative to fossil fuel powered automobiles. Within 10 years, electric vehicles will provide a viable, sustainable and environmentally safe alternative means of transportation…”
You are free to use one of these if you wish-
Ethical Dilemmas: Identify and describe two to three ethical dilemmas (from a Utilitarian and/or Kantian perspective) posed by your selected technology. Include concrete examples and ethical theories to help detail your summary.
You can use either the Utilitarian and/or Kantian perspective. We are “Pro” these technologies so we have to address good and bad so to speak….Utilitarianism should focus on how the overall good is greater than the bad aspects. Kantianism should focus on how if we do the right thing we should be able to expect the right results.
Here are some examples for each technology-
Photovoltaics-
While PV’s are green and produce electricity without dangerous emissions, there is an ethical dilemma in that many of the rare minerals used in the production of the panels are sourced unethically. (Provide research, sources, and narrative to back this position.) Note: as many PV systems utilize Lithium batteries to store electricity the argument could be made here too. Overall the greater good is served by moving to Photovoltaics as they produce renewable and clean electricity and will greatly reduce green gases and various forms of pollution. However this ethical dilemma must be addressed.
While PV’s are green and produce electricity without dangerous emissions, there is an ethical dilemma in that the development and production of the panels is a resource intensive process that requires the use of non-renewable energy sources and utilizes toxic metals and chemicals that are dangerous to populations. This can also be problematic during disposal (end of life). (Provide research, sources, and narrative to back this position). Overall the greater good is served by moving to Photovoltaics as they produce renewable and clean electricity and will greatly reduce green gases and various forms of pollution. However this ethical dilemma must be addressed.
Note – In either situation, for EV’s or PV’s. you could also use one of the groups you researched in week five here. Case in point people from lower income populations are in many cases prevented access to this technology (be it EV or PV) due to a lack of affordability. (Provide research, sources, and narrative to back this position.). This is not ethical and for this technology to truly have an impact that serves the greater good, massive adoption will be necessary.
Recommendations: Offer concrete recommendations to help mediate each of the described dilemmas. Remember to consider stakeholders and resources for providing solutions.
How can we make this work- What can countries, organizations, companies and people do?
Clear examples related to the previous ethical dilemmas can include governments working with private industry, and/or research universities through grants and incentives to develop better battery alternatives and better production standards that are less polluting. Greater incentives for recycling should also be considered. They can also create incentive programs to drive greater adoption to focus on disadvantaged peoples and populations. In any case again, provide research, sources, and narrative to back this position. Provide research, sources, and narrative to back this position.
Conclusion: Summarize your main arguments and provide avenues for further discussion.
Summarize your findings and what might be the next steps?
