Research collaboration involves two or more researchers where they come together with the sole purpose of establishing new scientific evidence which can be utilized by others to improve their understanding on a specific subject matter (Beck, 2016). In this case, research collaboration is important in that it boosts the skills, knowledge and experiences required in addressing a particular study question, with such enabling the researchers to address to answer it in a comprehensive manner (Beck, 2016). Additionally, research collaboration acts as a peer-reviewing process where all the individuals involved in the process validate every form of evidence to guarantee its reliability when reported in the findings (Beck, 2016). It is worth noting that research collaboration creates a great number of opportunities for the dissemination of evidence to different users due to the existing network of the researchers engaged in the entire process.

The available opportunities for the dissemination of evidence obtained in research collaboration include presentation in national and international conferences that bring researchers together with a view to solidify their practice with the information shared in such sessions (Beck, 2016). On the other hand, publications in nursing journals could be a great way to disseminate the evidence gathered using research collaboration (Beck, 2016). The DNP program equips the nurses with evidence-based as well as analytical skills that can enable them to educate diverse audiences using mass media such as nursing conferences and publications (Chism, 2016). In this case, skills gained in the DNP program empower the nurses to connect with their audiences from an informed position regarding the subject matter of the research and improve the overall level of confidence in the findings that are being disseminated.
