Each session, you will have an opportunity to self-select the assignment you are doing for that session that integrates with the course content. These are buffet options. Each assignment is worth 75 Points.

Option 1 – Response Paper: The Decalogue

To what degree should the Decalogue (Ten Commandments) be followed by American Christians? Address the spiritual and moral obligations New Testament Christians should have toward the Old Testament law. Also, address the place that Old Testament law should occupy in the pluralistic culture of the United States (e.g., posting the Ten Commandments in public buildings), recognizing and noting the differences between the U.S. and Old Testament Israel.

Consult at least the following sources: Exodus 20, Deuteronomy 5; Arnold & Beyer (2015), pages 86-88, 117-119; Clowney (2013), pages 106-111.

Papers are to interact with specific Old Testament themes showing an integration of the above resource materials assigned this week. You are expected to use all of the resources. The body of each paper is to be 2-3 pages (not including the required cover page and reference page). Papers are to be consistent with APA style, using Microsoft Word.
