Semester Topic is Immigration
you are going to write an essay in which you “analyze” the Rhetorical Strategies used by 1-3 published writers or public speakers who address issues within your Semester Topic. What kind of diction and language do they use? Is their writing or discourse directed at an highly educated or less educated audience? Do they rely on a formal or informal structure and tone? Do they include real-world people, events, stories, and examples to help connect with their audiences? What kinds of emotions do they illicit from their readers or viewers? How do they create and illicit these emotions?
Essay will be five (6) typed pages and observe the standard MLA guidelines that we discussed in Module I. Plus, because you will be doing research, you will need to include a Bibliography/Works Cited plus In-Text Citations to show your research sources.
You have to provide:
1. –Two-Part Title (Part 1 captures the emotional spirit. Part 2 tells the reader exactly what the essay is about)
2. -Section “Sub-Headers” (Short Titles for each section in the “body” of the essay. You can also give the Conclusion a simple Sub-Header such as the word Conclusion.)
