Sports have always been among the greatest facilitators of social change. However, issues of discrimination and bias continue to exist in sports-related workplaces. Dr. Richard Lapchick of the University of Central Florida has researched the hiring practices of the major leagues in professional sports and intercollegiate sports in the United States. In doing so, he has provided insight into their hiring practices related to minorities and women and has provided guidance on how to promote a more diverse workforce. For this Assignment, you will examine one of Lapchicks recently published Race Report Cards. You will analyze the reports usefulness in antidiscrimination efforts as you take into consideration discoveries you have made this week with regard to gender and racial equity Issues in athletics.
