There are many reasons why health care reform has proved to be a hard thing to pass in the United States. A few of those reasons include different external forces, the unknown factor of different health care options, the overuse of insurance and the health care system, and lastly the different social barriers in society. When it comes to the external entities that effect the buyers of health care insurance, there are items that are positive and negative impacts. Many consumers do not know the differences so it tips the scales towards a more of a negative scale compared to positives. When it comes to the unknown factors, many individuals do not read the fine print and know what each and every one of their health care plans. With this, there could be an expense that comes without anyone’s knowledge and there for an individual’s health care insurance may not pay this increased expense. The social barriers that are part of influencing the health care of individuals include their access to health care and their ability to receive the correct health care. These social barriers influence an individual’s access to health care more than the other factors when it comes to individuals ability to access health care.
