1. How does the neurobiology of trauma present in this case? Specifically, what are Maryam’s physical symptoms? What are her mental symptoms?

2. Which diagnosis would be a better fit for Maryam’s case: Posttraumatic Stress Disorder or Acute Stress Disorder? Define both disorders and then provide supportive reasoning for your diagnosis. Be sure to connect Maryam’s symptoms to each criterion in your proposed diagnosis.

Interventions

1. Briefly describe two specific interventions you would use to help stabilize Maryam immediately (in the short term).

2. Briefly describe two specific interventions you would use to help Maryam work through the trauma of the car accident (in the long-term).
