Topic-We all have our own department(supervisors) but are required to work every 3rd weekend to cover the whole plant. New supervisors are expected to do this with no know knowledge of what goes on in the other departments except per shift notes, To implement training in every department before doing would be beneficial.
The following is what is needed:
1) The rationale for the training program. Identify learning requirements with a needs analysis for the target population. Group the learning needs into logical clusters of learning outcomes. Develop training program goals from clusters of learning outcomes, and then develop learning objectives for each program goal (cognitive or behavioral)
2) The actual plan for training. Plan an actual 4–8-hour training program (or longer, if you like). Remember you should incorporate training and staff development recommendations that focus on how the training should be implemented as well as why, when, and where. Specific training timelines should be provided. In addition, the training objectives should be developed as well as a training outline that will include each activity, the learning concept and delivery time.
3) Project assessment. You will need to develop an assessment mechanism that will help you evaluate the effectiveness of both the training and the trainers. This will involve the development of a pretest/posttest assessment quiz.
