Prepare a 1,050- to 1,750-word written report along with a 7- to 9-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation for the senior management team to present your findings.

In today’s era, huge amount of data (big data) is generated by government, businesses, institutions etc. Complex data analysis and BI&A are used to extract useful information from big data. There is growing demand of skilled manpower who possess analytical skills and deal with big data. But, there are not enough skilled manpower available to deal with big data. According to a study conducted by McKinsey, U.S. alone is facing shortfall of 140,000-190,000 skilled manpower who can deal with big data. (Chen et. al., 2012).

Purpose

The purposes of research is to find out what programs can be developed to deliver BI&A education. This study will help in identifying resources available to train personnel, and meet the shortfall of skilled manpower who can work on BI&A. 

Research Questions

This research tries to answer following two research questions:

1. What resources are available to train personnel to be able to work in the Business Intelligence field?

2. How can a business recruit knowledgeable Business Intelligence personnel?
