We have a potential opportunity from Health Studio, an anti-disinformation platform that seeks to debunk false rumors and provide accurate information about Covid-19. Please note the deadline is 5 p.m. Eastern on Friday, 11/12, so we have time to develop answers if you would like to participate.  

The reporter is looking for medical experts to debunk a new rumor that claims Covid-19 vaccines can remove hemoglobin and/or oxygen from the blood. This comes from the disinformation network InfoWars, where anti-vaccine doctors claim the Pfizer vaccine depletes the blood’s ability to carry oxygen around the body. The questions the reporter is looking for answers on are:

1) Is there any published scientific evidence that Covid-19 shots can remove hemoglobin and/or oxygen from the blood?
2) Is there any theoretical mechanism by which vaccines could destroy hemoglobin in the blood, or otherwise inhibit its ability to carry oxygen around the body?
3) Do any of the major manufacturers list this as a side effect?
4) What impact would losing hemoglobin have on the body? Would it be severe enough to have been spotted or picked up by normal adverse events monitoring systems?
