This is an individual written project worth 10 points and is 10% of your Course grade.
Each student will contact a Hospitality Industry professional, conduct an interview with them face to face and write a paper describing the feedback received during this interview. It is recommended that you choose your Industry Interview with someone in a position you aspire to at some point in your career. Some questions that should be asked and reflected in your paper:
• What type of business does this person work for?
• Describe the business and the location?
• Describe their typical day.
• What was the path of education and work experience of the person you are interviewing?
• What does the person you are interviewing like the most and the least of this position?
• Growth opportunities for someone in this position?
• What types of Networking does this position participate in or should participate in.
• If you wanted to work in this position in the future, how would you prepare yourself now?
This project should be written as a paper not in Question/Answer format, it should be typed in APA format and should be 1- 2 pages in length, double spaced with a 12 point font (any font). Along with the paper, you will need to embed into your paper a picture of a hand written Thank you card to be sent to the person you interviewed. In addition, you will also be required to include an embedded selfie picture of you and the Industry person you are interviewing that you have taken during the interview. Points will be deducted if any of these requirements are left out.
