Week 6 part(2)
The main goal of the Abolition movement was to abolish slavery once and for all. Abolitionists believed that everyone should be treated equally, and have equal rights. Christian abolitionists had a strong argument. They argued that God intended for everyone to be equal; that no one person was more important, or more valuable than another. The members of the abolitionist group were mostly made up of white religious leaders, and black leaders who had been freed from slavery. One thing that helped the abolitionists get their point across to the people were raids. One of the most influencial raids of the time was the raid on Harper Ferry in Virginia.
