Welcome to Week 2: Evaluation and Management of Integumentary Conditions
This week, you will analyze a simulated case study about an adult i-Human patient with an integumentary condition and formulate a primary and 3-5 differential diagnoses, based on the patient’s information. Using the findings of your analysis, you will evaluate treatment options and then create an appropriate treatment plan for the patient.
Learning Objectives
Formulate differential diagnoses for adult patients with integumentary conditions
Analyze pattern recognition in adult patient diagnoses
Analyze the role of patient information in differential diagnosis
Evaluate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment options for adult patients
Create an appropriate treatment plan that includes health education and follow-up care
Week 2 Assignments
Complete the required readings and media
Access and review the training manual for i-Human listed in the course resource tab.
If you have not already done so, complete the i-Human “Basic DDx Case Play Webinar”, and “History-Taking Lesson”, then practice the intro case study on “Marvin Webster” to learn how to use the program. You can repeat the intro case up to 4 times. The intro case study of Mr. Webster does not count for a grade, but it will give you practice to familiarize yourself with the platform. This will benefit you when you complete the graded case study.
Complete the graded i-Human Derm case study. on patient Victoria Lewis and write up the case using the i-Human template (see previous announcement and email).
Save the assignment in i-Human and the template as a Word document. Be sure to review the grading rubric for the case study (this is how I will grade your assignment).
Upload your i-Human template into the Safe Assign Folder as a submission by day 7. You will find Safe Assign under Course Tools in the Control Panel of our course shell.
