My Greatest Strength

            In life, people are faced with the task oftrying to figure out how to fix things when they are broken. Luckily for me,that has never been an issue, my greatest strength is fixing things. I lovefiguring out how things work, and what can be done if they become broken.Having the skills that are required to fix things is relevant in every part oflife. 

          Fixing things is not always easy for others, but ever sinceI could remember I was good at it. I could figure out any given circumstancesfrom many standpoints, which made me different from others. When I was young Iwould challenge myself often, by taking things apart just to see how theyworked. When things became broken I would easily solve the problem of fixingit. I often hid my talent because I was shy and did not want anyone to think Iwas a geek or freak.

          One day during my high school years my teacher was havingtrouble fixing her favorite chair. Each day I would look closely at the chairtrying to figure out how I could salvage it. I never said a word, until shedecided she was going to throw it in the dumpster. With sadness on her face,she stood up and started to move the chair into the hall. I raised my hand andtold her to let me fix it, she stared at me and said there is no use themaintenance guy said it couldnt be fixed. I got out of my seat and began towork on the chair all it needed was a paper clip to stabilize the chair, so Iapplied it and the chair sprung up like it was never broken. This made herhappy and it made me proud.

              In conclusion, when things are broken people tend to throwstuff away, when in fact all it needs is minor work. There are often timeswhere extra tools are required, and extra effort has to be given but that stilldoesnt mean it is not worth fixing. Fixing things is relevant in every part oflife, you just have to have the skills to complete the task.
