What effective habits do students need to have to succeed at the college level?

CarolS. Dweck is an American psychologist and Lewis and Virginia Eaton professor andprofessor, by courtesy, of education. Who has conducted lots of research andshared lots of successful stories and states what are the possible ways toinhibit in order to be successful. For students to have success in theircollege-level academic career, they need to have a growth mindset and havePassion and perseverance. Because with a growth mindset students can focus moreon the results than the process. If one has a growth mindset will be able toachieve their goals since they are aware of the obstacles they face in college.As Dweck states in her book Mindset: The New Psychology of Success, thatpeople with a growth mindset always compare success with learning and growingmore they embrace challenges. Consequently, to have success in college one mustbe ready for all the setbacks and challenges then they will be able to besuccessful. Because my research will be about what habits a student can developto have success at the college level. so I believe that Dweck Mindset will help meto prove my point of view.

Duckworth,Angela. Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance. Scribner, 2016.

              AngelaDuckworth, the author of Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance, Is anAmerican psychologist, states that Grit leads to more success and Gritty peoplewill have more success in the long term. The author shares stories of peoplewho had Grit in them and she also explains that people who have Grit will achievemore in their lives. Therefore, it is necessary to understand if a studentwants to be successful in college must have grit in them. because the term Gritmeans passion and perseverance which both are helping students to achieve theirdegrees and be successful. Grit is very important for students therefore, Ichoose this to back up my point on how students can be successful in college.

              Dembo,Myron H., and Helena. Seli. Motivation and Learning Strategies for CollegeSuccess: a Focus on Self-Regulated Learning

            Dembo et al: explains that to be successfulin college one should develop some strategies to manage their behavior,motivation, and learning process. To be able to succeed in college one shouldbe able to change their learning behaviors because college is different fromhigh school. The authors also explain in detail what are the learning behaviorsand why they are important for ones success in college. This source isimportant for my research because the article is being peer reviewed, and it isa good example to prove  my point of how to be successful in college.

            Yazedjian, Ani, et al are of variousbackgrounds who have written the article about some strategies on how studentscan be successful in the college  as the authors states suggested that persistence in college is related notonly to students’ initial integration, but also to their ongoing academic andsocial integration. Therefore, it is important to consider not only academicintegration, but also social integration(Yazedjian 1). So, for one tobe successful they have to make allies in the college where they can sharetheir ideas and can help each other to be successful. This will support myresearch because the article has used some good strategies for studentssuccess.

The author explains what are the most important steps forstudents to achieve their educational goal. The reason i am using this articlebecuase this has been peer reviewed and it is from an academic journal. It willhelp me support my claim of the keys to success for students is to have a rightmindset to face any obstecle in order to be acheive their goals.
