For this project, you are required to select an individual (family member, friend, co-worker, etc.) with whom you would like to improve your relationship. You will make and carry out a plan to improve your relationship with this person by using three communication skills discussed in class (I-messages, reflective/active listening, body language, written communication, conflict resolution strategies, perception checking, avoiding defensive responses, managing emotions, social media competence, empathy/cognitive complexity, repairing damaged relationships, assertive message format). Follow the steps listed below to complete your project.

Steps

1. Write a report. Include the following:
2. 1. Cover Page. Include an original title for your project, your name & school name.
   2. Planning process page. Complete the remaining sections and include it with your report.
   3. Project report. 2-3 pages
      1. Project rationale/introduction: Describe what you did and why you did it.
      2. 1st body paragraph: Illustrate the three communication skills used and how they worked.
      3. 2nd body paragraph: Explain the impact on your relationship. 
      4. 3rd body paragraph: Recount how your communication skills were strengthened as a result of completing the project.
      5. Conclusion: What did you learn? How might it help you in the future?
   4. References page. List the sources you used in MLA or APA format.

Requirements

The paper should be 2-3 pages (not including cover, planning process or reference pages), 12 point font, Times New Roman, double-spaced, 1 inch margins, and written in MLA or APA format. Your project must be turned in via Moodle by the due date. Emailed or late submissions will not be graded.
